A lot of tweeters have had the 1.5-1.8k shelf. That is usually just a seal problem, but not an automatic notice of a bad tweeter. The magnitude is very close from 900Hz up, and also not that different than other tweeters I've seen below there.
Not deal of the day, but the Dayton Audio PM180-8 is on sale for $60. 185 in stock. (Thanks to @PWRRYD for pointing this out in another thread.)
During Pandemic Inflation they went up to $129, back down to $109 and it now states "normal" price is $99.
During that time, they also went on clearance and ran out of stock and it was suggested that they may be discontinued - but it did indicate an estimated "back in stock" date at which time they did become available again.
I am pretty sure they are now being discontinued, in case anyone wants to grab some while they are available (and ridiculously cheap).
$60 is a good deal for the PM180. I own a pair of them and find it to be a bit of an oddball. Very low distortion and high sensitivity but a couple of FR anomalies starting around IIRC 2k Hz. The datasheet hints at this - it shows a dip at 2.2k and another around 3.3k. I did some high resolution (e.g. 50 Hz or less) outdoor measurements and these are actually pretty deep and might be cancellation from a reflection or something. Without those the driver would be amazing, but these are right where you would like to cross it over in a 2-way. I assume that the cone is super thin, meaning that the box will need to be fully stuffed to reduce re-radiation of the backwave via the cone. No vented alignments in that case... but it could make for a killer midrange.
I am building a speaker with it now in an old pair of PE veneered cabinets, combining it with the AMTPRO-4, which is another odd driver. Also has low distortion but too large to be a tweeter and FR does not extend as low as e.g. GRS PT5020. Since I can cross over the AMTPRO-4 around 1.2k Hz or lower the FR issues of the PM180 are not of concern. Eventually I will also use a top mounted tweeter. In the meantime I hope to use it in a special project for the PE SDC covering only 300-3k Hz or so, which is right in the wheelhouse for those two drivers. This will be in combination with the Cerwin-Vega 12" coax build that I am pulling together now, fingers crossed.
If I didn't already have 5 or 6 pairs of nice tweeters on the shelf, I would jump on those. I used the NE19 silk in my first solo design. I really like the sound of that tweeter. It almost went low enough to meet the 8" MCM aluminum woofer I paired it with!
Ya, I would have snapped up a bunch of those $4.48 ($3.99 after rebate) shelves, but I can't fit 8ft shelves into my Nissan Versa hatchback. Too long; 6 ft is the max that I can handle. Every once in a while, Menards picks up a load of factory rejected 12x48x.75 shelves and sells them as "Value shelving" for $2.48 each. But the ones with the "Value Shelving" label are sometimes sold out or hard to find, but I have found that if you are persistent and keep digging around for a while in the shelving area, you can usually find some.

I’ve taken my cordless circular saw with me and cut boards to size to fit… in the parking lot - ha
I probably wouldn't think twice having boards hanging a couple feet out the back of my hatch/trunk if it was reasonably close to home. Though I'd point them in the passenger foot well, away from me, in case of being rear-ended... Or do the boring thing and cut em in half like they are saying I guess (no fun).

There's no way to turn of the open door alarm on my Prius. It drives me crazy.

Based soley on those measurements; it looks like you need to cut them open and tweek em like you did to those turd RST28's PE gave/sold to some of us.

If I recall correctly, the Seas DXT tweeters I used many years ago had a similar looking impedance curve.
