Hmm. I bet the switch is in the latch. IDk if it would work on a prius specifically, but I've heard of folks tieing rope to the latch loop on the hatch and using a screw driver or something to push the rope into the latch, locking the rope in and holding the hatch down with the rope. If the latch is engaged that might turn off the chime. I may have tried it once.. don't remember. Just one of those bits of knowledge I tuck away in case I get in a bind.
For me though I've upgraded to roof rack if I'm too lazy to hitch up the harbor freight trailer. That trailer has come in so handy for many years. For a few hundred bucks it turns your car into a pickup truck with an extremely low, easy to load, deck height. It takes all the abuse of hauling instead of roughing up an expensive truck or the interior of your car.
Gotta be careful with those 4' Menards shelves. I buy a lot of them - most of my builds these days use - and noticed sometimes they have 11-1/4 widths, and sometimes 11-1/2. I have also seen 5/8 material mixed in. It is varying quality PB sometimes. All in all, well worth the coin with some pickiness.
Use one of their tape measures to be you get the right size and go through the stacks to pick to good ones. I got home with some one time and one of the boards had a 1/32" rabbit on one edge. I should have looked closer at the store.
Everything Peerless by Tymphany in bulk and available - they have 4,400 DA25TX00-08 corundum tweeters in stock too . . . and a few XXLS subs and . . . ooh!

I was about to post that. Not a lot that interested me on clearance, however the PM180-8 is being discontinued and is on clearance for $60 so with the discount code will be $45. I already have them, and kind of a niche driver, but that's an awfully good price.
Just snagged a quad of the PM180s for absolutely no reason. Had to use my personal account to use the code though as the business account wouldn't accept the coupon.

Same on my (Hybrid) Highlander. I've driven pretty far with the hatch ajar just a bit with boards in the back and the alarm going off the whole time.

Most cars have a pin switch, pull it and short the wires problem solved, it will see the hatch as closed.

Ditto!
I ordered a RS225 to cut slits in Scan style. I'll see what happens to an aluminum cone.
