Lasic was great for about 15-20 years. Then age catches up with you (again) and the $12 ‘Walgreens readers’ become your friend….
My eyes were different- one was only -1 so I had lasic on the worse eye and all was great (near and far). Just dropped a contact in on the -1 eye for playing tennis or going to the movies, and if I forgot it wasn’t a big deal.
I dug out the "Super Session" album by Al Kooper, Stephen Stills and Mike Bloomfield yesterday and had a good listen.
A bit ragged in parts as it's a jam album, but there's some great playing. I love 'Season of the Witch' in particular. The re-issue has some tracks without the brass overdubs, which I prefer over the originals:Mike's playing is terrific.
Jeff Beck's collection of guitars , amps and other stuff is up for sale: some rather cool stuff in there, if you have deep pockets. I like the ukelele in the shape of a Gibson 'Flying Vee':
My 2019 Sorento decided to start puking oil when it is running, like bad. Under warranty yet, but dealership can't get me in until March. Thankfully my wife works from home, so I can drive her little Forte. My fat ass has to fold in half to get into it, but at least it's a ride.
My 5' lcr Tower of power. Thinking I might be a tool box instead. I have just enough room for a 42" rollaway where I store my components. Would make retrieval easier when voicing, that's for damn sure.
Build #2 is coming along nicely! This one is not a Lego brand, it's a copy, which is a slight bummer because it's the Gulf Oil livery colors. Part fitment is about 95% compared to actual Lego, so not so bad, but it didn't come with proper Gulf and Porsche decals. So I found a Gulf decal set on eBay, found the actual Lego Porsche 911 decal set on Pinterest, and I'm having the race number decals made at a local shop.
Bet it works pretty good. The two bolts probably "self tap" into the soft plastic and hold the speaker wires securely in place. Much better than the cheap plastic spring loaded clips on the stock terminals! Excellent modification!
I see shit like that on marketplace here all the time. Usually just someone selling an AVR that cost them $2000 twenty or thirty years ago for $500 or shit that's damaged like this one.
Good lord, just realized I bought my first honest to goodness AVR in 1999. Sony STR-925 IIRC. Bought same time as a Sony DVD player. Crazy how much I spent on those components. Almost a grand, that's big bucks 25 years ago.

I remember getting my first pair of progressive lenses - that took a while to get used to.
I think I'm on that line where they may say I need them next time. Ugh...

About 6mo ago I finally started needing readers at times.

picked this up (way) back in the day at Mid-Ohio (found it in an old box w speaker stuff)

The moans of natural aspiration all in one shot . . .
If (only) I had a man cave…

That's pretty cool😎
....yup, again...😛

Couldn't resist when I found it in Gulf colors.
More dollars than sense > fun little car for sure, but for those bucks I’d opt for a new 911

Absolutely

Well, I can see why your always selling off LCR grab bags.
No, it's "Dee" Ohio State as stated by some of America's smartest 😏

.....if ya want something done right...😉
Just saw this listed on FB Marketplace. Notice anything wrong here?

The toslink plug is missing as well as a case screw...hard pass
Is it the bolts in the speaker terminal?
Geoff
Wow!
Yeah, those bolts really need to be colored red and black with a Sharpie.
Of course, we all know that 'putting a great chunk of metal in the signal path' will seriously degrade the sound....

Bonus points for the electrical tape to prevent shorts.
