What do we know about this product?
Btw, have you any experience with this?

Hello! Looks very attractive and the foil is probably KALADEX a hi temp polyester version ... what I miss is a removeable back chamber so I can decide by myself how much damping should be applied to the backward radiated wave!
I miss also fair priced replacements in case of burning this tweeter .
The removeable front plate offers the option to stack two or three pieces and modify the original frontplate(s) to make a suitable new one!
Let's hope they have included felt behind the diaphragm to reduce the internal reflection ...
And what I really like is the even spacing of all pleats so it looks like a precision product!
All in all well worth the money , is my impression!
Another heartcore product from Dayton Audio , hooray!
Nothing yet. When I went to the new products listing this was the newest item, so I'm guessing it was just posted in the last two or three days.
How would one go about mounting that FaitalPro 4" driver to a 2" throated horn?
2" round hole or a tapered slot port?
I suppose you could fab a plate that adapts to the horn and back mount the driver to the plate. Would sort of act like a compression driver that way, just no phase plug so anyone's guess how that would work out.
Otherwise I've seen folks chop the horn down to the point the new horn throat is big enough for the cone. Then make and glue on a mounting plate so the driver can be attached.
This is probably old news to some of you, but I was watching Toids DIY audio interview with Brian, Product Mgr at PE, and at the 25 minute point in the 38 minute interview, Brian mentioned that the OmniMic V2 has been discontinued and will be replaced with OmniMic V3. The new V3 version will have the following new features:
1) FR measurements up to 40kHz
2) HD measurements up to 20kHz
3) Actual phase feature with photo link to an IR center. (T=0?)
4) Price? Not mentioned
Yuck.
PE is now showing a 10" Dayton Sig series.

Looks like PE developed their own Ultratouch Sonic Barrier products...

I feel like I'm throwing money down the drain every time I empty my dryer's lint trap.
You aren't. Dryer lint is EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE. I've seen queries or questions about using such material in the past, and I've always advised against it for this reason alone.

At least PE isn’t over charging for it. 😆

What about a few layers of U-Haul’s furniture pads / blankets and spray adhesive? $8.95 https://www.uhaul.com/MovingSupplies/Boxes/Custom-Kit/Ultimate-Furniture-Protection-Bundle/
Could be useful, but you have to examine NRC data for the material. Normally, most box damping material has little absorption for low frequencies, and much better absorption at, say, 400-500 Hz and up. I suspect the smooth cloth face on the moving blanket would reflect (not absorb) much of the lower midrange frequencies.
The U-Haul stuff may not be all that fire resistant, either.
I am happy to see PE offering the stuff, but believe it to be priced too high. Seems to be a common theme with PE these days.
EVERYTHING is too expensive these days . . .
Too many dollars chasing too few available goods which drives inflation higher.
Agreed. Everything is out of wack. I mean, you can flip burgers for $16 and hour. WTF.
Before this goes any further, we need to remember the rules. My gripe was against PE specifically, not a commentary on whatever economic conditions may or may not be happening.
So let's stick to the subject - new products and why they are priced how they are. PE over priced this stuff.
Frost King is cheaper!

If my math is right, Frost King is $0.0158 per square inch and Sonic Barrier is $0.0159 per square inch. If the 30mm Sonic Barrier is near 1" thick then it is a better deal, as the 1" thick Frost King is pretty much 1/2".
What is Frost King?

OK, cool.
I guess it isn't as much cheaper as I thought, but still...

Still pretty horrendous for ground up pants.
Is it this stuff for the recycled denim? I get this 1 to 1.25” thick 2’ x 4’ and 2’ x 3’ in packing per week.
