I did a tear down on one. Neo mag also has one in the pole piece. The pole piece is extended and copper sleeved. Paper cone/rubber surround. Voice coil looks fairly heavy duty for a little guy and 4 layers.
Honestly I misread the rules and thought it was 90mm limit, so I went with it as I thought it was the biggest allowed....oh well. We'll torture it when the time comes.
It sounds fine, but I threw a couple notches and things at it to fine tune to my liking. Still not a full range fan.
I should have the room-block link posted to the website sometime this afternoon. Rates are 115/124, and need to be done before 4/9/25 or pay a higher room rate if you stay at the Hampton. Ask for DIY Speaker Builders block if calling by phone.
I know I dallied, but the room link and other such things are now uploaded to the event website.
I listed most of you entertaining a build, whether theme or not.
Please let me know if you are for certain not attending if listed, or vice versa, and what you intend to bring.
Put me down for 1 theme and 1 non theme pair. Plan is have my Micro Grand Utopia's ready to play by Indy, but in an unfinished, raw particle board state. Then tear them apart after Indy for some bondo, sanding, painting, and xover mods in prep for the SDC in August.

Looking forward to hearing them.
Obviously not the best utilization of them, but they'll make bass.

^ That's a breadboard!
Nicely done, Eric!

The only thing I understand in that schematic is R5.

That's a metric ton of stuff! Can't recall, have you revealed what drivers you are using?
The full range is a Bose driver out of the Revolve+. The woofer is a Rival 8".

Fantastic little driver from the looks of it.
Interesting about the magnet capping the pole piece. Does it have an abnormally large xmax or sensitivity for its size?
2 ohm driver, did you bring DCR up with series resistance?
All the xover junk makes it all good.
Website updated, event dates are May 9/10! April was too clogged up to use that month this year.
