  • Sirens went off at 2am so we headed to the basement. Power went out at around 2:20. 2:50 - looks like it's past us, but power still out.

  • Gonna hit here in about 45 minutes.

The cell that ripped through here last night had reports of 90+ mph winds. Seeing some of the damage on Facebook, would not surprise me if it was even stronger. We lost our pepper plants and a piece of flashing is hanging off our house. Also in my front yard is a three foot chunk of 4x4 from God knows where. Would have really done some damage had it bounced off my house. That is evidence of a debris field.

  • Wow! Glad that 4x4 didn't hit your house. The storm kind of fizzled out before it got here.

  • A flying 4x4 could have done some serious damage! I saw a cell tower was knocked down in SE South Dakota.

No super high winds in our neighborhood. It blew over some potted plants and there are a few small dead branches in the driveway, but that was about it.

  • Glad to hear everyone is okay.
All I got was some clouds.

  • Our rainfall total for July now sits at 12.7", and that's pretty evenly distributed over the month. It's also typical for most of Iowa and surrounding states. It's amazing how little flooding has occurred so far (knock on wood), but the last 3-4 years have been drier than average.

  • We got another doozy last night, but not nearly as bad. I do not know total July rainfall but its gotta be up there, but nothing like last year when we got 9" in like 4 hours. That washed out a rail bridge.

  • Des Moines just broke the record for July rainfall totals with 10.62 inches. I haven't seen any flooding yet, but there's plenty of water in the rivers.

Very pleased to hear all are OK after the storms; will get in touch with our Iowa relatives and see how they fared.

On another matter, here's a link to what I think is the best Oz used car review channel:

They do a lot of myth busting, are knowledgeable and honest and I expect many car makers hate them. I like that they test used cars and look beyond the badge at what goes wrong, depreciation, parts supply etc. Most 'review' channels get a new car for a few days, rave about them and don't look at long term issues.

Most of their videos are about specific vehicles, but that one's a general discussion about buying a used car.

  • Right above the bar , I know it wont fit just saying.

  • Put it on the wall opposite the bar - with mirrors on the bar wall and replace the bulbs with dimmable LED's . . .

  • Last I knew, the former Kendallville RS still has the sign on the side of the building. I've thought about inquiring myself...

  • 3 Grand is pretty rich though. Might need to try and bundle the deal with some old drivers. ;)

  • Hell yeah🤘🏼

  • Another system install, this time for my nephew. 06 Jeep Wrangler, 4x6's, 5.25's, 10" sub, Pioneer radio, and NVX amplifier. Radio runs the coaxs, fronts HP @200Hz, rears @125Hz. The sub is a Tymphany made Bose driver in 1.5cf @ 40Hz. It's 2ohm, so amp has plenty of power (850W), so headroom for days. It gets pretty frickin loud in little cab. Made a bit of storage on top, he doesn't use the rear seat.

  • Finally upgraded to Win11 today. Seems if you already didn't have a MS account linked with Win10 it doesn't try to force it on the upgrade.

Now to go through and uninstall the bloat.

Found these tools are nice to disable alot of stuff quickly:

Hope you had a great time. Sorry my Son and I had to miss it. Looks like it was perfect racing weather.

  • He's trying to twist my arm to go to the NASCAR Cup race again in St. Louis but get better seats this year.

My son's toy. V6 supercharged, and yes a manual.

And BTW, the Mustangs were LOUD

Seems the right-turn corner seats sell out first...
