  • Got 3D Printer?

  • I saw the pic and immediately thought someone broke in and stole the radio.

No, but they make replacement part. $80 and some time involved = repaired.

The car isn't worth a nice stereo far too noisy inside.

Louder! I was one of those annoying pizza delivery kids running 2 earthquake 12's with punch 150hd in a used 86 Honda CRX, alpine head unit and 6x9's heh. Never got around to getting component mid-tweets for front after someone pried the sunroof open like a tuna can for pillaging - meh, car had funky electrical issues developing and needed a mayco paint job.

  • My wife just got back from visiting her parents in Texas. They sent her home with their old Sgt. Pepper LP! It's not a first pressing, but from what I can tell, this one was from 1967. Time to set up the ultrasonic cleaner and see how it sounds.

    Value!

Cover looks very good, does it still have the sheet of 'cut outs'?

  • I didn't realize that's what it was, but it's there. Unfortunately, it's missing the album sleeve, so no telling how much damage there is to the vinyl.

THE US and UK pressings of the album were much better quality than the Oz product; that was unfortunately the case with many LPs from that time. So much so that many people were prepared to pay one or two dollars more for an import copy.

Local companies were also particularly mean with gate-fold covers, such as Santana's Abraxas and Caravanserai, which were issued in single sleeves with all the inside writing over-printed on the back. Luckily, the lavish Thick as a Brick 'newspaper cover' made it through the miserly bean counters.

I have a UK pressing of Sgt Pepper (not an original) and it has lower surface noise that my old Oz LP; then again, when I first bought the LP, my equipment was pretty crappy so perhaps the old ceramic cartridge damaged the surface.

Not my favourite Beatles album, except for 'A Day in the Life', but what a cover! I'm currently doing a 1000 piece jigsaw to ward off cold and wet Winter days.

  • I had to Google the line about 4000 holes in Blackburn, Lancashire. It was about potholes! I'm sure that flew right over the heads of most listeners outside the UK.

  • Same holes that were supposed to "fill the arms of Paul"?

  • There are all sorts of English and Liverpudlian references throughout the Beatles' and their solo catalogues; 'fish and finger pie' in Penny Lane had me stumped until I looked it up - it's not polite!

  • OOooh! (I get it, now) the old imagination runs wild . . .

  • Started this last weekend, had what I thought was a wheel bearing going out. Turns out is was the inner boot split and all the grease exited stage left.

Also thought my diff had the LSD option, it didn't. So took care of that little issue. This one is out of the manual version, so also gaining a bit of gear ratio. Stepping up from a 3.53 to 3.69. Not a huge gain, but definitely in the right direction.πŸ‘πŸ» Got a finned diff cover too.

Got it all back together today. Nice to have the car back on the road, looks like it's turning about 200 more RPM at highway speeds. Bit more zippy and on some back roads the LSD really makes coming out of turns much nicer! Funny I just thought the OE LSDs were crappy, now since finding out I had the open diff, super cool upgradeπŸ‘πŸ»
