  • Yup! 🤤

  • Our oldest drove from Seattle to Denver and bought this in 2020. I've only been a passenger in it once, but a tap on the accelerator will sure wake you up.

  • Splint plus Ace bandage post-op. Two weeks then removal of this to get to the stitches, then another cast for two weeks. Then rehab, I don't know for how long.

  • I feel for ya, bud. I'm headed for back surgery soon. Keep your mind and spirits alive.
Just as a last hurrah for my old age, I bought that KIA Stinger GT Line and will take possession Saturday. (2.5L Turbo).
Just to have something to look forward too.
I am also looking forward to your studio monitor build with great expectations . . .

I've owned 6 Mustangs. My first car was a 1966 coupe with a 289/C4 and a front bench seat (somewhat rare).

Before I bought the Sorento in 2019, I test drive a Stinger.

  • From the car show a page back. I had to file this one under "inadvertent self-portrait". Also not my rig. :'(

  • I had a 66 Mustang. A friend had some Thunderbird wire wheel covers that fit.

  • Love the fastback. Was it a straight 6?

  • LOVE the '65-'66 fastbacks.

One of the coolest looking cars ever made, possibly thanks to Steve McQueen in Bullitt, but cool regardless.

A neighbour had a dark blue 1966 fastback for many years, but it only had the Oz 170 cubic inch 'six', so he said it drove like a Ford Falcon. He kept it in pristine condition and sold it for more than he paid.

He replaced it with.....a Citroen 2CV!

  • I broke the USB port on my lenovo laptop. Any estimate on cost of repair, and/or is it reasonably easy to replace myself? I have some soldering skills but micro could be trying.

  • edited July 25

Probably on-board rather than a seperate board. But should be easy enough to solder on another. As long as the failure didn't lift any traces.

  • Is it the only USB port? Could use a hub on any remaining ports if more are needed.

Yes, thankfully the laptop has two. I was using a hub - microphone and dsp unit, but damaged one. Just looking to repair my (fat fingers) error.

  • My daily, ‘08 Bullitt, next to my buddy’s ‘08 GT

    289 V8 automatic.

My uncle who was 25 at the time had a new Mustang coupe delivered to his wedding in August of 64. Being young he drove fast. I was a teen at the time and remember riding with him and hitting a duck going about 90. The duck hit the top of the windshield and went straight up.

There is a crapton of Mustang Pride out there. May even exceed Corvette in numbers. Enjoy some eye candy.

When I was 16, I was driving from Columbus up to Mansfield in a little 914/4 and a Mach 1 pulled up next to me, and on 3 (from 50mph) he blew my doors off - not unexpected, BUT salt to the wound he was pulling a large boat 🤣

  • The yellow one is another style I like.

One of the many more recent car shows we've had here in Classic City had a green and white two-tone with a transparent portion of hood and a huge Lingenfelter Supercharger showing through it. My dad thought it looked like a factory job out of Detroit. A former coworker and classmate of mine has a heavily modified Roush Mustang, Navy with white stripes.
I've seen a bunch of them around here, and usually there is enough stuff under the hood that they are packed solid in the recent models. I still kinda feel that the Mustang lost something when they went with an D/SOHC valvetrain. The sound wasn't the same after that, and the motors looked more like the Asian imports.

  • Back in the early 90s

Zero to 343+ MPH in only 1000 feet! That is incredible.

  • Yup, nothing like it.

A similar thing happened to me in our Miata: driving along our Geelong freeway with the roof down, I was about 50 yards or so from an open trailer truck. Suddenly, an enormous flattened cardboard packing crate flew away from it and headed straight for my head - luckily for me, it hit the top of the windscreen and bounced away.

If it hadn't hit the top of the screen, I wouldn't be here. It probably weighed around 15kg or so and I was doing around 60mph; I'm no physicist but its kinetic energy would probably have killed me.

  • . . . I sent the Stinger back - awaiting refund - too much pre-delivery undisclosed damage/abuse for me to accept.
Still looking for something a bit sporty . . .

  • Dang! That sucks, looking forward to a new car then having that happen!
Good luck on your quest, lots of nice sporty cars these days👍🏻 The new Nissan Z is pretty cool

Test drive the Tesla model 3. If you can catch the state and federal rebates you can get one for $7,500-11,500 off. It’s been the best car I’ve had so far (I’ve owned 12). No noise, no shifting, crazy torque and barely any maintenance. I test engines for a living so I’m pretty biased toward internal combustion engines but the driving experience really won me over. Battery usage goes up about 30-50% when below 20 degrees F but that’s the only downside. Not a long road trip car but it heats up immediately in winter. The tech is pretty nice.

  • The price of new cars is more than I paid for my 1st house on over an acre lot ($50K) - not going there.
The price of used cars has almost tripled in the past 6 years and you can now buy a sedan w/ 120K+ miles on it for $18 ~ $25K. I am not going to spend all my savings on something like that. Grrrrrr.
Sticking with my KIA Optima LX 96K for the foreseeable future. PS - Stay away from Carvana.
