It takes quantity of 12 for free shipping ...
I already have two, but can't bring myself to pay shipping nor do I need 12. So...I'm scouring the site for other drivers to add to my cart. And yeah...I do NOT need more drivers either. I actually think I will be able to resist, but we'll see.
Don't we need at least 8 to fill in the lower octaves? With shipping and tax it comes out to $119.20 for eight. Looks like you build two 1cf compound boxes with a pair in compound/parallel and you're good for 110dB of output with F3 @ 36 hz
I was thinking about getting 6 more (to go with my existing two) but that doesn't get me to free shipping. But a quad per side probably requires a MTWWWW in order to get the tweeter height and not sure I would ever get around to building this.
Yes definitely a mid. I wondered if it could be a contrasting driver (in specs) to the PM180. More power handling capability and the response doesn't appear to get wonky until a bit higher up. It only wants a tiny sealed volume to attain a low Q slope with f3 around 270hz. Maybe something to pair with dual isobaric stack of 55-5670s ?
I also noticed Newark has their new Aluminum 5" fullranger for $22 currently. If the specs can be believed it can get an f3 in the low 40s in .5cf. I'd hope aluminum ringing is tamed in order to be a fullranger. If so, it could be easier to work with as a woofer compared to other aluminum woofers.
So I’ve never bought from Newark before that I can recall. I wanted to see how bad shipping would be on a quad of the 8’s, and I made it all the way through to the very last step of submitting the order and their site never added taxes or shipping to the cost. It showed my total as $59.XX the whole way through. Am I doing something wrong here?
I've had issues getting it to calculate before. I seem to remember coming to the conclusion that the shipment calculation system clocks out on friday like the rest of the staff.

They have a delivery-info page, which says $9.99/order below the free-shipping minimum of $150.
Not sure what shipping would be, however. Price of the driver is pretty cheap compared to Madisound for the similar SB15NRX2C30-8. Looks like the Solen one in uncoated cone.
Hurry, only four left in stock, and these may be an OEM product so will probably go NLA after these four are sold.
Added two midwoofers to the cart and shipping to 57106 was calculated at $54 and change. That changes things, but you guys up North could definitely take advantage of these prices.
Browsing Solen it appears they do not have too many driver options these days - wonder whats going on,
There are 2 versions of that wood cone driver. I believe it is mostly Vas/Q differences. In fiddling with a box, I found one to be considerably nicer than the other.
I use one of these at my desk. It has a pre-out as well as a high-pass filter, BT works pretty good. I run the pre-outs to a powered subwoofer. SQ is completely acceptable.
(It had been on sale for $550 which seemed pretty good to me. I got "JR'd" which is an official term when you buy something and it goes on sale right after you pay the higher price.)

TW030/5670 at ~$90 in drivers is a steal!

Did you receive the 2 Dayton woofers I sent in MCM 55-5670 boxes?

Wonder how the 5560 would mate with the wavecor tw030?
PE doing another clearance sale type thing.
Looks like that Odeum neo 6.5 is $40 again after the checkout code.

Thanks. Has anyone tried the 6.5 yet? I’ve been tempted…
^ It's a midrange IMO.

I wouldn't even spend the money on the extra drivers for isobaric. TMWW with Wavecore special at Madisound, 6-1/2" Odeum and dual 55-5670s.
The Newark aluminum is a clone of the RS150 or Gradient, and made by Lyeco. I would not use it full range.

Two 55-5670 in a sealed box around 1ft^3 and active Linkwitz transform?
Try just PEQ before trying the LR-transform in that box and see what you can get at lower GD . . .

Definitely. I was thinking of it sealed with a Sica 6.5 coax and active, met by a couple RSS265HF subs
I checked out yesterday no issues.
I still see $14.90: https://www.newark.com/mcm-audio-select/55-5670/8-die-cast-woofer-8-ohm-rubbber/dp/95Y2936
@Impious I tried checking my cart again today and seemed to default to a flat rate $9.99 shipping.
They have a delivery-info page, which says $9.99/order below the free-shipping minimum of $150.
IIRC, there is a calculated charge that only goes on the invoice, and you don't see it until then.
