My scores came in. Better than I expected. Judge 2 was pretty honest and thought it was about average, which I'd agree with. The other two I was surprised how much they were diggin it!
Here are a few shots of the door prize table. Lots of good stuff was given away. I was hoping to score one of the two pair of Morel Integra 424 coaxials, but no luck for me this year (I ended up with a t-shirt).
Pairs of the new Dayton Signature series woofers, 4", 5.25", and 6.5" versions.
GRS high excursion 10" subwoofer:
Two matched pairs of Morel Integra 424 Hybrid coaxials:
Bill, that is so awesome that you take, edit, and post all of the pictures for everyone to see. Thank you! I love seeing so many designs, and love all the various approaches, and the level of build and finish work that the designers bring. I am going to make it to one of these get togethers, sometime. I want to hear every one of them. 👍Glenn
Looks like I was the 2nd place tie with also 147 points, and placed 4th after the tie breakers with the Monoculus.
Bottleships earned a respectable 129, and looks like more Originality and Design points than Monoculus.

JeffB used to refer to 'splashy' as a tweeter with a bit more distortion than some others. Kinda like the cymbals sounding a bit unrefined. Best explanation for an example, would be a comparison of the old RS28A to a 27TBFC or even RS28F to 27TDFC, with the RS being more true to the source and sounding less splashy.

Always great hanging with you guys! Sucks we're so far apart.
Thanks for the great pics and writeups Bill, much appreciated.

We usually post the scores and comments over at Tech Talk.
Sure but... that forum is pretty much dead unless you're into DIY Flat Panel Speaker Love LOL
We can post here, I don't care. I'll post mine when they show up.
Like the Styrofoam vibrating ones?

Maybe, I don't know. I stopped looking at that thread when the OP's posts started exceeding others' posts 10:1.
2018 or 19 for me.

Eminence Alpha drivers, DATS V3 (2), Hybrid tube amp, etc:
I won a pair of them. Check your PMs.
Yeah the coaxs and the ribbons would have been sweet! I ended up with some closed back Eminence Alpha 6's.
I won a DATS 3, which for me is better than another speaker for the shelf. Man I'm a slow builder.
Wow, you only had ONE 7 from all the judges!!! Every other score was an 8, 9, or 10! Your project rules Man!
Thanks! Definitely curious to see Brads, as we tied.

Very interesting comparing with Eric's scores. ..

Damn, so basically you placed, but got hosed.
Ben we got third place. Thanks for voting me in
The dynamic range just wasn't happening for Jerry 😛
I'm pretty sure that's where he ranks bass response. I probably would have had a better score later in the day.
John, i had me above you, so it wasn't my vote...

I finally got my scores in today. Can anyone explain what "splashy" means in terms of HF?
Geeze... I figured the pictures would just attach, not take up the whole forum page.

All you need to know about that comment was the qualifier re. the type of tweeter. Simple confirmation bias.
