I thought about using these and original Infinity tweeters and woofers, but the drivers just are not very good. I want to do a modern version. I do have four 8" IMG woofers that I have to refoam and then get the T/S specs with DATS. They have a very small magnet so, I think they will do good in a closed box (high Q driver). Not sure if I will use them or sell them.
Hi guys! Just checking in to see how you all are doing and see where InDIYana is heading theme wise for 2025. I feel like I'm getting rusty on speaker knowledge and I've only been out for 1 year!
JR and I have been doing something like that the last 2 years; Hope to do it again. For a design compitition that would be kinda hard to do without a lot of parameters or people choosing to pair up.

Bill, I wasn't aware you had one of those Misco Bold North tweeters. In fact you are the only person I know that does. Being what it is, you could likely xover lower, even 1st order electrical. Compared to the LD25X, which you like more?
Did you get your issue with those tweeters settled?
Ken, yes, I would agree with your sentiments here. It is slightly prohibitive of the acronym that is DIY.
Dave, yep. Had a $100 challenge.
Leon, I hope to have a new pair in a couple weeks.
Theme: 3-way system for a smaller room. I love large format speaks, but homes appear to be subject to shrinkflation just like a bag of potato chips. Inspired by current build
I think it would be quite competitive.
If I were still in Louisville - had a great room there, I would say Monkey Coffin Contest!

I'm interested to see the results of your testing. I think that tweeter has potential.

SB Acoustics SB20FRPC30-8 directivity will be a compromise but output should be pretty good.

I would choose to use multiple mids, and even a 3 1/2 way, If I were allowed to do so.
Pair with bullet tweeter?
I am going to build an Infinity style speaker even if the theme won't be that. I have been wanting to do it for years now.

The O'Ryan fit the theme except they are ported.
I wouldn't care on the box style, so we're clear.

If circumstances permits, maybe will drive out next year and I'll haul them with.
All about that bass.

My wife contributed this idea....
Pair up builders, each does a design, and build the other's design.

Ben, has there ever been a low budget theme?
