I'll try to edit my posts with some more driver, crossover, designer, or sound quality detail later on. So you may want to go back in the next few days to check the pics again for missing detail. I am doing a fast data dump initially to get the pictures posted quickly so that everyone can see them. I'll get another batch up in the next couple of hours. Thanks for the comments. That should cover almost all the loudspeakers at the event. Let me know if I missed anyone. I know I missed getting a pic of Meredith's open unlimited entry. So I'll have to post one of the shots that I took of it in Indy. Tomorrow I'll post a few "environmentals" of designer's giving their presentations before the crowd. That room was really packed with people. Standing room only.
Yes, John is correct. I'll add Just a little more detail from my memory and the designer's brochure. This was "The Hateful Eight", SP59 in the "Under $300 Large" category. Designed & built by Juan M. This was a DIY coax using the Eminence Beta 8a woofer and the La Voce TN1.31 tweeter. The author removed the dust cap and installed the tweeter with aluminum spacers. Said that he tried several different tweeters before selecting this one. I think they sounded pretty good from where I was seated. Nice looking cabinets constructed of ash hardwood and maple plywood.
Tom Zarbo started a thread for the 2025 SDC event over on the PETT site. So I decided to start posting presentation picture summaries, with driver detail, etc., on this thread to see how it goes. Wolf suggested that this may help to generate a greater interest in future SDC events hosted by Parts Express. The PETT forum software seems to be much less "buggy" today than it has been in the past and all of my summary postings seem to be going well so far. I was originally planning to post the same summaries, with driver detail, here on this thread, but decided against this because it is simply too much work to double post everything. So, if you want to link faces and driver detail to the SDC loudspeaker pictures, you will need to check out the PETT thread (link below). I will be posting the summaries over the course of the next several days as I gather all the information together for each speaker entry. Thanks.
