Definitely what Craig said, but the MWAF event is a nice gathering of like minded geeks. The comp part is it's thing, but it also allows you to get a feel for how your project sounds among a lot of others fairly quickly. This can clue you in to it's strengths and possible weaknesses in short order. Plus most of us there can tell pretty soon if there's a glaring problem from experience. Just don't let the thought that it's a competition discouraged you from bringing a speaker.
