This is a 14 ohm 6" driver out of a JBL center channel. I have four of them, two with dented dustcaps.
Anyways, cast basket and a poly coated paper cone. Two are a decent match to each other, and the other two are a decent match to each other, but the two pair are a bit different. Sensitivity is high for such a small driver with such high impedance, around 87db, but the Hoffman law holds true and they require a large enclosure. In the modeled 0.75 cubic foot they extend low 40s upper 30s - not bad for a 6" driver.
Sample 1 is green.
Sample 2 is red.
Sample 3 is black.
Sample 4 is orange.
Anyways, if I use them it would be in a slender tower, MTM style. Must have been a boombox in a small CC enclosure, but I'm sure the designer was counting on a high-pass being applied that would cut down on boom. Or not.
I have pulled out two OEM drivers lately - these and the Infinity Primus 5-1/4". I love playing OEM stuff, sometimes you find a diamond in the rough.
