So I have the opportunity for a position in another (warm) state. But how do I move all my speakers without damaging them? I will have movers. Do I have to build crates like Javad? Wrapping a moving blanket around each one does seem like it would work in the back of a moving van. Each on my red isobaric speakers weigh in at 50 lbs each.

Sorry, I got nuthin. I have never moved.
I vote for OSB crates, and congratulations John.
Just use experienced movers with damage insurance and oh, yes - congratulations and best wishes, Mr. Hollander.
So you won't be going to Iowa anymore? How about Indy?
Don't be negative, I'm not giving up shushing Chuck just yet. If JR can attend I don't see why I can't.
Yeah, I'm leaning that way, but what a waste of time.
Congratulations John! Your retirement didn't go exactly how I am envisioning mine. I also like the idea of OSB crates for the big speakers. Plastic totes with blankets/towels work well for bookshelf sized stuff.
I moved last summer, but just within the same neighborhood. Lots of lifting, carrying and reorganizing, but packing was much less of an issue.

Especially if the movers do a walk through first, just point out that the speakers are expensive and should be treated as high end furniture.
If you are doing a DIY move, one cardboard box per enclosure. The plastic cling wrap rolls that your local hardware store sells in the moving section to protect against fretting wear and hold any needed spacers around protrusions like domes. Then fill cardboard box with filler. (Clean cloths if you don’t mind the wrinkles, even better if they are your spouse’s clothing!!!)
When I moved, I bought some tall corrugated boxes i.e. for golf clubs and packed my 42in tall open baffles - doubling up and with internal bubble wrap. Worked ok, but best to make room (if possible) in your own SUV for your pride and joys...
Yeah, depending on how far of a drive, those would be hand delivered by myself. Otherwise, better safe than sorry, crate'um up.
I always wrap mine in comforters with a moving blanket on the outside. You can go to like Goodwill and find cheap comforters. Congratulations on moving to a warmer state.

Pink insulation foam sheets are a valid method. Jim Griffin used to haul his that way.

Scuffing from vibration over long hauls can be an issue. Clean them as best you can before hand and wrap the first layer tightly so it gets the brunt of the movement instead of the speaker surface.
Sorry, I worded that wrong. Not being negative. Just hoping you keep showing up to the DIY events with your great sounding speakers. Always fun to shoot the breeze with you and your wife.
John, memory foam mattress topper material. They will keep the speakers from moving and getting scuffed
I've shipped several speaker across country and once to Europe with blue board foam insulation boxes that were taped together and shipped in cardboard boxes. In this example I also used wood strips to protect the corners. I used cardboard sheets with cut outs to protect drivers. It was a bit of work but I never had a damaged speaker. You may have seen them at IowaDIY. It works for plain boxes but probably not for complex shapes.
