Get familiar with the reaction system: Introducing the Reaction System

Design with Dynavox LW6004HR….

With a smaller format tweeter? I’d like to pick up DanP’s pair, but am struggling to find a well documented two-way with a smaller format tweeter. This would be for a Bluetooth radio, so not critical listening of any kind…. Thanks guys!

  • Thanks Ken! That is perfect, now to choose from the multitude of crossovers😉

  • Just use the winning one.

  • Be sure to move the lpad to after the xover on the tweeter though if you do. Otherwise, the impedance will ride at 2 ohms.
I thought mine was pretty good too.

  • I have those drivers on the shelf. If you need any help let me know.

  • My design was a little laid back, trying to make sure the tweeter wasn't too stressed, I typically prefer laid back over a bright speaker. Bill (4thtry) had some great notes and insight on the competition.
I think you would be very safe picking any of the well known designers crossovers, there is a lot of documentation and even some graphs for comparison.

You can build multiple xovers and find the one you like best. It wouldn't be that expensive.

  • Thanks, gentlemen! Lots of good thoughts and would be interesting to see the different sound, even in a non-critical listening setup. Will report back with a move. Need to measure the enclosure and also ensure it will all fit appropriately…. Though pretty sure not an issue.
