I feel these are really good, especially at their price point. Of the ones I've heard of JR's series of affordable projects, these are probably my favorite. I enjoyed them.
It was really easy to roll on with a smooth roller, easy water clean up. Dries really fast and sands well. It sealed the end grain of the mdf really well, there was some damage to the surface of the mdf and after a the second coat I couldn't spot the repair any more.
That was 3 coats, I think 4 would have been just about perfect. 4 sounds like a lot but it dries fast enough that you could get 4 coats done in 2 days.
I'm looking forward to spending more time with these, I need to get them on stands away from the wall. I am curios what these would sound like in a tower format. Maybe I should build them a base that contributes to the total volume (like I need another project).
These sounded incredible for the money. They were close in character to the 2-way AMT monitors Ben brought and while maybe not quite as resolving, they were about as much fun to listen to.

Can I ask who you are/were, please? Hopefully, I made you feel welcome this weekend.

I'm hoping they raise a few eyebrows.
I assume these will endure the typical barbie girl? I hope they will be Kenough. (If I have to tolerate the Ken puns so do you)
No Barbie Girl was played, but these did represent themselves well. Thanks for knocking them together, Ken. They looked fantastic.
Happy too!
For anyone considering these, I built them with the same components used in the JF kit:

Yup, they sounded great, definitely can't go wrong with that affordable kit. Great job guys!
