Parallel vs. Series Isobaric configuration?

Is one preferable over the other?

Here is two modeled responses, I would have expected the series to be lower in dB, but I am also surprised that is also makes for a smaller box.

What am I missing?

Any other insights into series vs. parallel isobaric configurations?
