low pass filters (please answer only if you know)

A pre amp sub woofer is permanently set at 90hz, my sub woofer has an existing low pass at 100hz
Will these interfere with each other and raise or lower hz filtration?
I'm no electrical engineer just building the boxes.
thank you

  • It will cascade and give you a steep low pass filter.

The above is modeled with a 4th order 90hz and a 4th order 100hz. Without knowing exact driver and tuning the FC will be hard to determine exactly, but in my model it actually lowered the FC with the two cascaded.

    You should be fine.

  • What JR said.

  • Thank you so much! I probably should bypass the 100hz low pass then just to be sure.
