Not steak at all, but this must be my favorite quick DIY pizza.

    -Take n bake italian loaf
-Sweet marinara (Aldi Priano marinara is good IMO)
    -Garlic powder, oregano, basil
-Real shreaded parmesan (not the powdered wood pulp)
    -Pepperoni
    -Presliced mozzarella log

Basically assembled in that order. Obviously embellish to your liking.

Bake the loaf according to instruction then crank the temp to 425. Cut up the loaf and load on the sauce and fixins. Bake ~6min then flip on the broiler on high for another 6min or so to realy get the top sizzling. There is usually enough cheese for 4 slices per quarter, but some folks like a more normal amount. So half that can stretch to 2x italian loaves for a party or something. Usually I can source everything from Aldi.

  • Happy Valentine's all. Filet with home made Demiglaze, scallops in white wine and butter sauce with spinach and red bell, baked potato, and spicy pinto beans.

  • Tonight we made bao, some with ribs in an asian inspired sauce and some with labio.

  • Habanero jam. Turned out good. A bit to liquid, need to adjust the pectin level.

Two racks of St. Louis style pork ribs going in the smoker for dinner tonight. It's super hot here today so we don't want to heat up the kitchen even more cooking anything in the oven or on the stove. Trying a new smoking technique. Perfect day to let them slow cook while my family and I float around in our pool.

  • I'll be teaching Mrs JR how to cook over the next several weeks. I cannot do much with one hand.
