Looking for....

5" woofers that play nice in 0.375 cubic feet. Used is fine. Trades are possible, I currently have a couple pairs of very nice tweeters I'm looking to unload.

  • I have a quad set of HiVi F5's that have been sitting on my shelf for years. Not sure if these would work for you. Xmax is only 2.5mm, but a pair of these would produce a nice vented alignment in 0.375 cu ft tuned to 48Hz.

  • Any of these look interesting?

SB Acoustics SB13PFC25-8 2 5" Paper Cone Woofer 8 ohm New, pin cushion = 135 mm flats
    Zaph ZA14W08 2 5" Al. Cone Mid/Woofer New, frame = 139 mm
    Newark/MCM 55-3870 2 5" Al. Cone Mid/Woofer New, frame = 138 mm
    Dynavox LW5002PPR-S 2 5¼” Mid-bass NIB, cut corner frame = 134 mm
    Eclipse W520R-08 2 5¼” Mid-bass NIB, cut corner frame = 139 mm
    Tang Band W5-704D 4 5¼” Woofer Good, frame = 156.5 mm
Dayton RS150S-8 2 5-6" Shielded Al. Woofer Like new, frame = 150 mm

  • Morel HU 521? F3 of about 52Hz in 3/8 cu ft. Keep saving them for something cool and haven't gotten around to it.

  • Great suggestions, all. When I get back to my real computer I will post what I have to trade.

  • I have a pair of unused Fountek FW146 if you'd be interested. Models about the same as some of the above woofers; ~50hz tuning and ~48hz F3.

  • I've been modeling a Wavercor WF120 in 11 Liters (.38 ft^3) ported for a small desktop.
F3 of 38Hz. But not interested in trades at this time.

But Chahly - Stahkist don't want speakers that look good, Stahkist wants speakers that sound good!
  • Just realized I still have a pair of 5" Dynavox poly cones I should use up.

As interesting as some of the offers are here, I am afraid I will have to pass.

I also have a pair of OEM JBL 5" with cast frames that I should really get mounted and measured.

    I have a signature.
  • What are you planning on pairing them with?

I have a pair of Infinity3/4" mmd tweeters that I want to play with. They are shallow waveguide loaded.

    I have a signature.

I've been curious about those, save for the dustcap logo.

Damn we think way too much alike. 😁

Out of curiosity, how much would you want for the four of them?

I'm not really looking to sell them. They are nice, little mid-bass units with alot of potential. Several years ago, JR actually gave me two of the four that I have on hand. So, since I haven't used them yet, I was just going to send him his original pair back in the event that he wanted to press them into service for a current build (easy come, easy go).

Understood. They’re some really fun woofers to work with. I paired them up with the XG19 tweeter and it was pretty dang nice.
