  • Is this your new shop? Ribbon tweet looks pretty solid, low xo, good FR and low distortion.

Yes, I'm just getting going. There will be some other stuff later this summer.

  • So is it like the Bozen tweeter?

    Very much.

  • It took a few seconds before I realized the price was for a pair. Do you know what the current Canada to US tariffs will cost?

  • 270$ for a pair is pretty good. Landed cost is the kicker!

  • When I first saw it, I thought this was a Bozhen CQ76B. But then I noticed that the flange has 6 mounting holes instead of 4.

  • Same kind of ribbon element.

    No idea.

  • I'm working on something to soften the blow of possible tariff mania. Operation costs here in Canada have gone a bit nuts, but I should be able to come up with something in the next couple of days.

Purchased a pair - Thanks for this Gowa!

    (Love me some ribbons . . .)

  • What makes them a hybrid ?

The current travels through a real voice coil, and pushes on the folded membrane. Current does not actually travel through the ribbon itself, unlike any other planar, AMT, or true-ribbon. The membrane has a real suspension too.

Won't it still be good practice/advisable to install a protection cap ahead of it when running sine sweeps and playing in a speaker system?

  • It is still a tweeter.

    Ben has a point.😆

  • Selling out real fast. One guy from Germany ordered 6 and a guy from Finland ordered 4. I wasn't sure I wanted to sell that many to one customer, but they were group buys. So that's cool.
THE YEAR OF THE RIBBON! :)

  • It has a voice coil? I thought that ribbon tweeters were invented to have much lower moving mass.

A ribbon with a voice coil? I'm kornfused ... again.

  • I would like to see the impedance curve.

  • Bozhen calls it a "new type tweeter".

Here are the impedance curves for my two Bozhen CQ76B tweeters. They go up and down and all around. If the Atlas AR120 uses the same type of VC+ribbon config, they should look similar.
