Hypex NC502MP + Ghent Audio Case

edited April 30 in DIY

The NC502MP has been on my wish list for a while. IMO the price : performance : footprint ratio is unbeatable. So when Vance listed two of the Hypex boards on eBay, I couldn’t resist making an offer on one. He made a reasonable counter and I jumped on it.

Shortly thereafter I ordered the Ghent Audio case. If you are ever in need, I would highly recommend him. He was very responsive to emails, he shipped same day I ordered and it arrived at my doorstep 5 days later. It was all well packed and the case and accessories so far feel like they are very good quality. There aren’t any instructions but each item is individually packaged with the screws needed for it, so assembly should be simple. Only thing it didn’t come with was power cable and thermal compound, both of which I ordered from Amazon

I’m couldn’t be more happy so far. I’ll end up with what Id currently consider my end game amp at 25-30% less than retail. So far I’ve installed the back panel. Hope to have it all finished up this weekend at the latest

loudspk https://www.ebay.com/usr/loudspk Heh, almost was gonna buy but need it like a hole in the head. He'll often send out offers if put on your watchlist. But i have a compact little UCD400Hx running off connex 600w smps, sounds better than I remember the early UCD400's that built in late 2000's sounding - likely from better input opamp and regulators.

  • Got it all finished up tonight. Have it running in my gym stereo since that’s the system I use daily. Now I have an excuse to build a pair of speakers that’ll handle the pair she can put down

  • Very nice! I really like those Ghent Audio cases; quite well built. I used one to build an ICEpower 50ASX2SE. Will probably make a new amp with the updated amplifier modules sometime.

  • Yeah, they are 100% commercial grade quality in fit and finish.
