Looks like Peerless is back?

edited April 16 in DIY

Anyone notice that Peerless is back at Parts Express?

And not with the 250 piece minimums anymore!

Spoke to Solen yesterday, Peerless removed the very high minimum order requirements they have had for the past couple of years.

Solen here in Canada will be carrying Peerless again as well.

Good news!

  • I got the email from Parts Express. It said "Now in Stock and Ready to Ship". I checked out the 3 pages of Peerless drivers. Out of 3 pages only one driver was actually in stock and ready to ship. The rest were all on back order. LOL at PE!

Madeja Look though didn't it! :)

  • I really hope they get back into the DIY market. There are so many published designs out there using their budget-friendly tweeters.

  • They have always been easy to work with and I find their quality to be very good considering their prices.

  • Very good news.

  • On PEs website many of the Peerless products are marked "New" even though they were sold previously. Some of these show they are expected in stock on May 2nd while some still shows the minimum order quantity. An example is the NE149W-8. PE confirmed to me that this driver (and presumably the others marked New but showing MOQ) are on the same shipment as the others and expected back in stock in May.

There are others, like the Beast Mode tweeter, that do NOT indicate they are coming back in stock, so it will be interesting to see if some of these also unexpectedly come back.

  • It’s too bad the SDF subwoofers never took off (for DIY - the big Genelec subs use a variant of the 15). Those were nice, and usefully cheaper than ScanSpeak Disco while having bigger VCs.

  • I eyeballed those many times, just a little out of my price range as good a value as they are.

  • I want the 10" to come back...

  • I have had a pair of the 6.5" HDS woofers on order for a while now, due in on 5/2. Now the product page states "Back-order pricing subject to change due to tariff uncertainty". I guess I will see what happens to the price when they ship.

Crud. Guess the shipment was not yet on the water before tariffs began. I was waiting on those and tg9fd’s before starting some new projects

  • I’d like to get my dirty paws on this from Peerless by Tymphany

And the old classics like HDS Exclusives and neo drive NE series back… including the NE19/25 VTT

    FPP1014C

    https://peerless-audio.com/applications/

    Scroll down past half way

"FPP cone technology".. I'm pretty convinced it is EPP (expanded polypropylene) foam. Used in all sorts of automotive products and custom molded shipping protection. The primary impact absorption liner of many helmets. Etc.

Perhaps stands for Fluted PolyPropylene, a type of thin moldable polypropylene.

Allows them to make moldable custom dispersion patterns to guide the HF in the coaxial

    Eg. 10x14” coaxial:

the 15x30” neo subwoofer looks interesting, allows for low profile subwoofer

Or turn this big boy 90 degrees, into a bass-bin, pop the lil’ gal on top.

    DIY the easy way!
    More thump for le$$

  • If you’re going to have a moving wave guide for your coax tweets- might as well go all in !

  • FPP example looks like coroplast. I have used it in the past for crossover boards. Never worried about temperatures and never had a problem with the material.

    The rectangular subwoofer looks promising.

  • Just got a backorder update, my woofers are not going to ship until 9/12.

Were they something that showed an estimated date of May 2nd?

Edit: I went and checked a few Peerless things that I was waiting to order and the estimated "Back in Stock" dates have all been removed.
